Garage Floor Coating with Epoxy Resin
A 2-part epoxy is an adhesive polymer that has irresistible bonding qualities which make it perfect for coating a porous concrete surface, such as your garage. The 2 parts consist of a resin, and a hardener. Depending on the product, you can achieve a lifelong result that can withstand hot tire pick up, fading and discoloring, bubbling and cracking, and other types of wear and tear. Although there are many top named brand products, we prefer Insl-x Garage Guard by Benjamin Moore. Including proper preparation, this typically takes 3 days depending on weather and the condition of the surface.
Preparation
Preparation of the concrete floor consists of resurfacing by diamond grinding, high pressure washing, and muriatic acid etching. From that point we seal any cracks and patch any imperfections on the surface level.
Application
On day 2, the primer coat is applied to the raw surface to serve as a base for the top coat. This will provide a solid bond to ensure consistency with color and uniform strength against hot tires and discoloration.

On day 3, the top coat is applied with or without color flakes of your choice and is left to dry. The top coat will require another 24 hours to be able to walk on and 72 hours to drive on.
